What is a Daily Standup?
A daily standup (or daily scrum) is a short, time-boxed synchronisation meeting held every day by agile and scrum teams. Each team member briefly answers three questions: what did they do yesterday, what will they do today, and are there any blockers? The goal is to surface issues early, align the team, and keep the meeting to 15 minutes or less.
How long should a daily standup be?
The Scrum Guide recommends a maximum of 15 minutes, regardless of team size. With this timer you can allocate 1–2 minutes per person and set a hard cap on total meeting length — so no standup ever runs long again.
Why use a random speaking order?
Rotating the order prevents the same people from always going first or last. It keeps the team alert, reduces predictability-driven multi-tasking ("I don't need to listen until person 5"), and makes standups feel fresher over time.
How does the audio alert work?
The alert is generated entirely in the browser using the Web Audio API — no external sound files are downloaded. When a speaker's time expires, a short descending tone plays and the timer border flashes red. Press Skip to move to the next person.
