Privacy Policy — Jira App
This policy covers the Online Planning Poker for Jira app installed from the Atlassian Marketplace. The short version: everything stays inside Atlassian's infrastructure, we run no servers for the app, and no data ever reaches us.

What This Policy Covers
This policy applies only to the Online Planning Poker for Jira app that you install into your Jira Cloud site from the Atlassian Marketplace. It is a separate product from the onlineplanningpoker.com website: the app runs entirely inside your Atlassian environment, requires no account with us, and shares no data with the website.
If you use the onlineplanningpoker.com website or its optional Jira OAuth integration, our website Privacy Policy applies to those services instead.
Where Your Data Lives
The app is built on Atlassian Forge and runs entirely on Atlassian's own infrastructure. It makes no network calls outside Atlassian: no data egress, no external APIs, no third-party services.
- We operate no servers for the app — all storage and compute is hosted by Atlassian within your Atlassian organization's boundary.
- No app data is ever transmitted to us or to any third party. We cannot see your games, votes, issues, or users.
- The app sets no cookies and uses no analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.
What the App Stores
To run estimation games, the app keeps the following in Atlassian Forge storage (hosted by Atlassian, scoped to your site):
- Game data: game names, deck and game settings, and the keys, summaries, and estimates of the Jira issues added to a game.
- Participation data: Atlassian account IDs of the person who created a game and of participants, their chosen role (player or spectator), their votes, and recent-activity timestamps used to show who is in the room.
What the App Does Not Store or Collect
- Names, emails, and avatars are fetched live from Jira each time they are displayed and are never persisted by the app.
- Payment details: billing for the app is handled entirely by Atlassian. We never receive any payment or billing information about you.
- Anything else in your Jira: the app reads only the issues and fields your users interact with, using each user's own Jira permissions.
Data Written to Your Jira
When your team confirms an estimate, the app saves it to the Jira estimation field you selected (or adds a comment on the issue when the field isn't available). These writes are performed with the acting user's own Jira permissions, become part of your Jira data, and remain in Jira after the app is uninstalled — like any other change your team makes in Jira.
Retention and Deletion
While the app is installed
Games are retained so your team can review past estimates. Deleting a game permanently deletes it along with all of its votes and participation records.
When you uninstall
All app data is removed in accordance with Atlassian's Forge data lifecycle for uninstalled apps. Estimates already saved to your Jira issues are your Jira data and are not affected.
Erasure requests
A user's personal data can be removed by deleting the games they participated in. Once an Atlassian account is deleted, the account IDs the app stores can no longer be linked to a person. For anything else, contact us at [email protected] and we'll honor applicable requests, typically within 30 days.
GDPR Roles and Sub-Processors
For personal data processed by the app (Atlassian account IDs, votes, and activity timestamps), your organization is the data controller and we act as a data processor. Our sole sub-processor is Atlassian, which hosts all app storage and compute on the Forge platform — no other party processes app data.
Processing is limited to providing the estimation features described here; we process nothing for our own purposes and, by design, have no access to the data. The full processor terms are in our Data Processing Addendum.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the app evolves; changes are posted on this page with an updated date above. For privacy questions or requests regarding the Jira app:
